Wonder jar

The idea is to portray a family inside a jar, i thought it would be very pretty to put our loved ones in a jar, and gave it as a birthday gift!

DIY: Embroider by yourself

Threads + pins + acrylic paints = super fun!

first thing first, i made rough pencil sketch on a fabric. Plan it out first, so you won't go back and forth erasing the pencil line.

 

paint it! i used acrylic paint because I have no fabric paint. Note: if you are using acrylic just like mine, make sure your mixture is 10% water and 90% acrylic. this will help you to smear a good layer of paint. if you put too much water, the paint will leak through.

optional: let me tell you a little trick to dim your picture's color. i like it to be a bit dramatic (who doesn't!) so i shade it with a thin layer of pencil. I used 6B pencil so it will showed upon the acrylic layer.

The last step is to embroider it, take your time, make it good and neat!

I decided to make it as an embellishment for my transparent ipad case.

i like to surround myself with my artworks because i need a little whisper of "you are good enough" everyday and having my works around is a self motivation to me.

Just bought a ridiculously cheap ipad case and did a twist on it. There is no magnet so I can't attach my stylus and the cover doesn't make your ipad sleep (pathetic, i know!).

you only need permanent markers and elastic strap that usually goes to your pants (found it on my mom's sewing kit) and a little sewing skill from your mom.

wham! i can carry along my stylus now.
